A lifelong Atlanta resident, Marion Blackwell has written a fascinating cross section of short stories about the Civil War, Atlanta area history, his passion for hiking, his long real estate career, and other topics.
After a short stint in the Army during the Korean War, Marion Blackwell, Jr. came back to his hometown of Atlanta. He spent his working life in the commercial real estate field, working his way up to president of SharpBoylston, the oldest real estate company in Atlanta. He also served a term as president of the Atlanta Board of Realtors. An avid hiker and historian, Marion lives in Vinings with his wife, Terry.
Starting with eight fiction and twenty non-fiction stories, Marion shifts to five essays on varied topics and then to nine poems and "dogerty" before ending with interesting places to visit in Georgia. There's something for everyone in this book. Several of the articles have appeared in publications such as Georgia Backroads, lhe Atlanta journal-Constitution, lhe Landmarker, Friends Journal, and Loftlife.
