Three 4ID Vietnam veterans - 1SG (Ret) David McNerney, Bob Babcock, and MG (Ret) Gordon "Duke" Duquemin. David served four tours in Vietnam, two as an advisor, one with the A/1-8 IN of 4ID where he earned the Medal of Honor, and his last tour was with the 1st Cavalry Division. Bob served one Vietnam tour - with B/1-22 IN of 4ID. Duke served two Vietnam tours with 4ID - serving as G-3, 2-8 IN CO, 2BCT CO, and 4ID Chief of Staff.

David McNerney, Bob Babcock, and CBS Correspondent Kymberly Dozier. Kymberly was seriously wounded with 4ID in Iraq on Memorial Day 2006, her life was saved by a 4ID medic. She's an honorary 4ID vet, she had also reported from 1-22 IN back during OIF I. I bought her book, "Breathing the Fire" ISBN 978-0-696-23837-6, available on www.amazon.com (haven't read it yet, will do that soon).

5) The term "Heroes" is used too often in the country today - but it truly fits this group of great American Heroes, all who earned the Medal of Honor while fighting in our nation's military. I was honored to have been in their presence for three days - they are common men who rose to the challenge and did uncommon things.
